Reds Lips & Gingham

Vintage Scarf, Antique Mall
Tank & Belt, Thrifted
1950's Circle Skirt, Wildfell Hall Vintage
Wedges, Jeffery Campbell
Vintage Elvis Pocket Mirror, Nashville Flea Market (last fall)

Hello!
Lately I've really been loving wearing cotton skirts and with a simple tank. So, this 1950's gingham skirt from my sponsor Amy of Wildfell Hall Vintage is just perfect for me! Add a headscarf and some red lipstick and I'm ready to go!
On another note.. I lost my camera charger, so these pictures were taken with Jonny's phone. I think my camera charger disappearing is a sign I need a new camera, hehe ;o)
I hope everyone's well!

Inspiration Friday, Bettie Page, Before the PinUp

Bettie as a little girl and in high school, first row third from left

I recently read the book Bettie Page: The Life of a Pin-Up Legend. The book is filled with tons of pictures of Bettie, mostly from her pinup days. The pictures I loved most were the ones of Bettie before she became the legend she is. Bettie was born in Nashville, Tennessee and that's where most of these pictures were taken. I of course think that's pretty cool! ;o) Another fact about Bettie that I didn't know is that she made almost all of her clothing/costumes!

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.. and for those of you on the East Coast, keep safe! xo

My Perfect Day With Jessie of Strawberry Moth

This past Tuesday I spent the most perfect day with Jessie of Strawberry Moth! On her way from Georgia to Ohio Jessie stopped here in Nashville to spend time with me. I'm thrilled Jessie decided to make the detour because we had the most wonderful time wandering around together! Jessie and I were like two peas in a pod. Here are some of our adventures from the day...

Some park strolling and picture taking. It's Jessie a doll!?

Popsicle eating and Farmers Marker gazing...

What a pretty girl!

Then on to some sushi eating!

All pictures taken with Jessie's amazing camera

The day also including vintage browsing, Bettie Page reading, dog cuddling and 1940's music love sharing! It really was a perfect day. I miss Jessie already and I'm planning a trip to visit her super soon in Savannah! Love ya girl!
Oh, and if you haven't visit Jessie's blog, what are you waiting for!! ;o)

Inspiration Friday, Claire McCardell

Why Hello! It seems that this past week I took an unexpected blog break! Things just got a little busy around here. I did some impromptu house/dog sitting, which was wonderful! I was in a dream house (original vintage bathroom included!) taking care of two adorable dogs and one lovely cat. The weather has been perfect, so I've been spending lots of my time outdoors and reading on porches. One of the books I read was
American Fashion, The Life & Times of Adrian, Mainbocher, McCardell, Norell and Trigere. Claire McCardell captured my heart with her gorgeous simplicity. Just what I've been wanting to wear lately.

All pictures captured by me from the book American Fashion

If I ever have a little girl I'm so dressing her like the little the cuties above!
Also, this past week I met a wonderful new friend. Pictures of our day together soon! xo
